June 9, 1992 Metro pg 5Mitchell Barryhill, 7, of Van Meter, son of Craig and Shelly Barryhill, drowned Saturday in a hotel swimming pool in Springfield, Mo. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church near Van Meter. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mitchell, who had completed first grade at Van Meter Community School, was born in Waterloo and moved with the family to Van Meter a year ago.
Additional survivors include his sister, Nikki Barryhill at home; his grandparents, Dell and Loretta Shook of Waterloo, Jerry and Mel Johnson of Aitken, Minn., and Walt and Mary Barryhill of Lake Panasoffkee, Fla.; and his great-grandparents, Joseph and Wilma Mesch of Waterloo, Tina Mjoness of Slater and Lola Shook of Vista, Minn.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at Fisher Funeral Home in Van Meter, where the family will greet friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
