Clara G. Brandt, 88, of Calvin Manor, 4210 Hickman Road, died of a heart ailment Monday at home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Dunn’s Funeral Home, with burial at Winterset Cemetery.

Mrs. Brandt was born in Clarinda and lived in Des Moines since 1980. She was a retired business secretary for the federal government and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and The Senior Singers.

Survivors include two stepdaughters, Catherine Barley of Bowie, Md., and Ellen O’Dell of Hiwassee, Va.; and a sister, Janet Schaal of Loveland, Colo.

Friends may call after 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
