RODERICK WESLEY MONROE

Roderick Wesley Monroe, died March 25, 2012 at Lincoln, NE. Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, March 30, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, ND. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, March 29, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck. Roderick was born Feb. 8, 1927, in Wilton, ND, to Philip and Emma Monroe. He graduated Bismarck High School and entered the US Navy toward the end of WWII. Roderick became a Civil Engineer and spent his career with the ND Dept of Roads, the Asphalt Institute, and finally retired from the Iowa Dept of Roads.

He is survived by five children, Roxy Kuzminski, Lincoln, NE, Marcy (Don) Rowe, Omaha, NE, Jeff Monroe, Pierre, SD, Sandy (Gerry Pflepsen) Monroe, Nebraska City, NE, and Court (Sue) Monroe, Lincoln, NE; 12 grandchildren, Scott Kuzminski, Becky Sallinger, Tiffany Crounse, David Rowe, Jason Monroe, Jesse Monroe, Michelle Monroe, Kristopher Monroe, Cassandra Weiler, Jacquelyn Baker, Daniel Monroe and Will Monroe; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Darrel Monroe.
