VAN METER, IA.— Paul Aldrich, 71, of Van Meter died of a heart ailment Thursday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Fisher Funeral Home here, with burial in North McDonald Cemetery in Jefferson Township.

Mr. Aldrich, a retired mechanic for Van Meter Auto, was born in Madison County and lived in Van Meter most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth; four sons, Wayne of Tucson, Ariz., and Leroy, Dennis and Loren, all of Van Meter; two brothers, Floyd of Mason City and Don of Emmetsburg; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call until service time at the funeral home.

VAN METER — A funeral for Paul Aldrich, 71, of Van Meter was held Dec. 30, 1989 at Fisher Funeral Home here. Mr. Aldrich died of a heart ailment on Dec. 28 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center at Des Moines. Burial was in the North McDonald Cemetery.

He was born in Madison County and had lived most of his life in Van Meter. He was a retired mechanic for Van Meter Auto and was a World War II veteran.
