Ruth Arlee Wigton Foley was born on the family farm near Redfield, Iowa on September 15, 1917 to Elna and Florence Cunningham Wigton and died at the Community Care Center in Stuart on Sunday April 22, 2012 at age of 94 years, 7 months and 7 days.
Arlee attended school in Redfield and Dexter High School. Arlee was united in marriage to Joseph Francis Foley May 24, 1940. To this union three children were born, Evelyn, Billy and Janet. Arlee was a homemaker and lived in Dexter and Earlham area until her move in May 2011 to the Care Center.
Arlee enjoyed CWF at Early Chapel Church in earlier years, and was a member of the Earlham Church of Christ. Arlee enjoyed all her friends at the Earlham meal site and loved to play cards and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family.
Arlee was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her parents, brothers Frank, Gordon, Harry, and Carroll Wigton; sisters Helen Dunmire, and Elsie Woodall, and son-in-law Norman Hougham.Arlee leaves the following family, daughters Evelyn Hougham of Waukee, Janet Cruikshank and her husband Don of Johnston; son Billy and his wife Becky of Urbandale; four grand children Jill Van Woerkom, Blake Cruikshank, Anne Porcelli, and Todd Foley; 6 great grand children and 2 step great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Aileen Wigton; many nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends, 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, April 25, at the Johnson Family Funeral Home-Earlham. The funeral will be held at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Earlham, 10:30 AM, Thursday, April 26. Burial will be at Penn Center Cemetery, rural Earlham, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Earlham Rescue Unit.
