Ruby Gideon, 78, of Valley View Village, 2571 Guthrie Ave., died of cancer Wednesday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Central Lutheran Church. The body has been donated to the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery.

Mrs. Gideon was born in Burnside, Ill., and lived in Des Moines most of her life. She retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield and had been a member of Central Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Mill, address unknown; a brother; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Central Lutheran Church.

Note: Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
