Laura F. Peterson, Des Moines

Graveside services for Laura F. Peterson, 78, Des Moines, who died Oct. 22 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held at the Winterset Cemetery on Oct. 25 with Dr. Jerry L. Schmalenberger of St. John’s Lutheran Church officiating.

Born at Gibson City, Ill., on June 8, 1908, she was the daughter of Carl and Dora Olsen Peterson. She worked as a cosmetologist and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include sisters, Mrs. Virgil (Laurine) Smith of Winterset and Edna Peterson of Des Moines.

LAURA PETERSON

Laura Peterson, 78, of 1321 57th Place died of a heart ailment Wednesday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Winterset Cemetery in Winterset.

Miss Peterson was born in Gibson City, Ill., and lived in Ankeny and Indianola before moving to Des Moines 16 years ago. She had been a cosmetologist in Minneapolis, Minn., and Kansas City, Mo. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Laurine Smith of Winterset and Edna Peterson of Des Moines.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
