Esther Lair, 94, of New Oaks Care Center, 3806 Easton Blvd., died of a heart ailment there Sunday. Services will be graveside at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Earlham Cemetery.

Mrs. Lair, who retired as a clerical worker for the state of Colorado, was born in Earlham and moved to Des Moines in 1989 and to the care center a year later.

She is survived by five half brothers and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hamilton’s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home.
