Services for R. Byrle McKinzie, 63, rural Greenfield, who died May 4 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, were held Tuesday, May 7 at the Macksburg Methodist Church with the Rev. Stanley Ganzel officiating. Burial was at the Moon Cemetery.
Born in Madison County on March 30, 1922, he was the son of Harmon and Bertha Bennett McKinzie. He was the owner-operator of a trucking firm at Macksburg and spent his lifetime in Madison and Adair counties. He was a member of the Methodist church and the Macksburg IOOF.
Survivors include his mother of Macksburg; a stepson, Ronald I. Crow of West Des Moines; daughters, Sharon Wasson of Urbandale, Bonnie Thompson of Kansas City, Mo., and Barb Weldon of Winterset; a step-daughter, Diane N. Johnson of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Marian Wallace of Macksburg; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Edwina Rodgers Crow, and his father.
