Mr. and Mrs. Wood Watkins and two sons, attended the funeral of Mrs. Wright last Monday at Truro. Mrs. Wright formerly lived on a farm south of here.

Page 1, Column 1 & 2Amanda America Wright, age 76 years and 3 months. Born at Molton county, Illinois, October 6, 1853. She and her son Charlie moving to Iowa in the year of 1922, having lived in Madison county for 9 years.
Mrs. Wright died at her home near Truro, Iowa, January 4, 1930 after a relapse of the influenza taken seriously ill Christmas eve, but has been failing several years.
The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bell, a long time resident of Madison county.
She was a member of the Holiness church of Athens, Illinois.
She was married to William J. Wright at Molton County, Illinois, who preceded her in death in the year of 1895.
They were the parents of five children, three having preceded her. William Anderson Wright passed away June 15, 1883, Steve Benjamin Wright passed away in the year of 1901 and Cora Ana Hubbs in 1927.
The living children are John Wright of Martinsville, Illinois, and Charlie Wright at home, who patiently cared for his mother during her declining years.
She leaves to mourn her death one sister, Mrs. Emil Wrham of Atlantic, Iowa, and four brothers, Harry Bell of Oregon, Manford Bell of Watertown, South Dakota, Sam Bell of Salina, Kansas and John Bell of Peru, Iowa.
Mrs. Wright also leaves nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
She was a devoted Christian, loved by all who knew her. Her spare moments was spent in memorizing God’s word. As her eyes had been failing her for years. Her greatest fear was that she would not be able to read. Her efforts were not in vain as she was able to quote scripture which took her over half an hour to quote. She also had memorized 113 hymns.
Being able to do all this, smiling and understanding up until the last.
Funeral services were held from the Truro M.E. church at two o’clock on Monday afternoon, January 6 conducted by the pastor Rev. Clarence Moore, assisted by Rev. Burnell.
