Ruth Jester Breheny, 82, of 1917 11th St., died of leukemia and a heart ailment Wednesday at Des Moines General Hospital. Services will be at 9 a.m. today at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery at Earlham.

Mrs. Breheny was born in Earlham and lived in Des Moines most of her life. She was a professional pianist and had assisted her husband, magician Eddie Jester, in USO tours around the world. She was a member of Musicians Union Local 75, the Organ Club, the Sons of Union Veterans Auxiliary, the Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic Auxiliary and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.

Two sisters, Cecile Lewis of Des Moines and Mary Byrne of Stuart, survive.
