MRS. JAMES E. WALKER

Lenora E. Hayden was born in Madison county, Iowa, Aug. 15, 1876 and died in Osceola, April 29, 1920, at the age of 43 years, 9 months and 14 days. She has lived in Madison county all of her life. She was united in marriage to J. E. Walker Jan. 28, 1896. To this union were born three children, all of whom survive her. They are: Mrs. Nola Faith Bell of Gary, Ind.; Anona Dorothea and Merrill Wesley of Truro.

When they were married they became residents of Truro, where they have lived ever since. She was converted when 14 years old, and united with the Christian church; about 15 years ago changing her membership to the M. E. church, of which she has since been a faithful member.

Her health has never been very god, but in recent years she began to decline, and a short time ago it became necessary for an operation, and although she was given the very best of medical skill and the devotion of her friends, and especially her devoted husband, her call came to and on the morning of April 29th she quietly closed her eyes to this world. She has been a consistent, earnest Christian, a devoted wife and an affectionate mother, and one that will be missed by all who knew her.

She leaves to mourn for her a husband, two daughters, a son and son in law, three brothers, two sisters and many other relatives and friends.

Rev. C. K. Corkill conducted funeral services Saturday morning at the M. E. church and she was laid to rest in the Ebenezer cemetery.
