The Rev. Edwin A. Breiholz, 78, of 3416 61st St., died of cancer Thursday at his son’s house in Cedar Rapids. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Van Meter.

The Rev. Breiholz was born in Pomeroy and had lived in Des Moines since 1985. He was a retired pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Van Meter and various Lutheran churches in Wellman, Bettendorf, Keokuk and Indianola.

Surviving are a son, Arlen of Cedar Rapids; four step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Westover Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Ind., or his church.
