Alex Pattison, one of the early settlers of Crawford township, and the man for whom the town of Patterson was named, died at his home in Santa Anna, Calif., about a week ago. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J. J. Thompson of Santa Anna.
Mr. Pattison was a resident of Crawford township for many years, and it was for him the town of Patterson was named, a mistake in platting resulting in the town's name becoming Patterson instead
of Pattison.Mr. Pattison moved from here about thirty years ago, first living in Missouri, and later moving to California. By the old residents who know him best, he was regarded as a man of splendid parts, honest, upright, and moved by good impulses in all that he did.
