Death of MRS. A. D. FLETCHER

Mrs. A. D. Fletcher died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ralph Jennings, near Van Meter on last Friday. Mrs. Fletcher was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Walker, who were among the first settlers of the neighborhood comprising the four northeast townships of Madison county.

For the past three years, her health had been failing and Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher had been spending the winters in the south. They but recently returned from their winter's sojourn when Mrs. Fletcher became suddenly worse, her last illness overtaking her while at her daughter's home.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, Rev. Elliott, a former pastor of the United Brethren church of that vicinity, having charge of the services. Besides the husband, one son and several daughters, all of whom are married, survive the mother.

Transcriber's note: Burial in Jefferson Township cemetery.
