EARL ELMER KEENEY

Earl Elmer Keeney died at the home of his brother, Chas. W. Keeney in Rockwell City, on Wednesday afternoon, April 14, 1920, after an illness of three months, first taking the influenza which later developed into pneumonia causing his death.

He was born in Macksburg, March 18, 1890 and at the time of his death was 30 years and 28 days of age.

On July 29, 1918, he entered the government service and after a period of three months at Camp Forest, Ga., he left for overseas, where he served almost nine months.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his mother, Mrs. Bertie Keeney and one brother and one sister: Chas. W. Keeney of Rockwell City and Mrs. Jennie Macumber of Des Moines; besides a host of relatives and friends.

The remains were brought to Macksburg where funeral services were held from the M. E. church, with interment in the Moon cemetery beside his father, who preceded him almost three years ago. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Carl Brown, pastor of the M. E. church at Lorimor.
