January 16, 1994 Metro pg 5Raymond Washington DeLay, 89, of Perry died of complications of Alzheimer’s disease Friday at Perry Lutheran Home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry, with burial at 1 p.m. Monday at Earlham Cemetery.
Mr. DeLay was born in Union County and had lived in Dallas County since 1941. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Waukee United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred; four sons, Jack of Bouton, Jerry of Indianola, Robert of Westlake, Ohio, and Roger of Ringos, N. J.; three daughters, Janice Spellman of Granger, Barbara McCormick of Iowa City and Shirley Baird of Sunnyvale, Calif.; a sister, Mildred Smith of Tingley; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Perry Lutheran Home.
