The serious illness of Stephen Connor, as noted in this column last week, resulted in his death Monday of last week at 11 p.m. Mr. Connor was born 76 years ago near St. Patrick's church, Irish settlement. When he married Miss Mary Murray, he erected a home one half mile east of the old homestead and lived there until the time of his death.
They raised a large family of worthy sons and daughters. The remaining members of his family are his widow, Mary; Mrs. Ella Devine of Des Moines, sister M. Alberta of Guthrie, Okla., John, Frank, Steve Jr., Hugli, Mary and Anna at home.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. M. Dugan Wednesday morning. Thus we note the passing of a truly good Christian man who was ever mindful of his duty to his God, his family and his country.

Stephen Connor was born in County Clare, Ireland, November 3rd, 1845, and died at his home in Crawford, Madison county, April 12th, 1920, at the age of 75 years.
He came to this country with his parents when five years of age, living first in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and later moving to this county and settling on the farm which was his home for sixty-five years and upon which occurred his death.
Honest as the sun, with a good mentality and excellent memory, it was always his delight to talk of early days in the Irish Settlement an in his passing we have lost a good friend and neighbor, the community a progressive, industrial citizen and his family a kind and generous husband and father.
He was married to May Murray on November 20th, 1873, who with two of his sisters, Mrs. Martin Doheny of Cumming and Sister Mary Benedict of Guthrie, Oklahoma, four daughters, Mrs. Phil Devine of Des Moines, Sister Mary Alberta of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Mary and Anna and four sons, John, Frank, Steven and Hugh still survives him.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. M. F. Dugan took place at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Honorary pall bearers were Mr. F. Spain, Mr. Thos Doheny, Mr. Maurice Breen, Mr. John Cutler, Mr. Lawrence King and Mr. Patrick Bracelin, active pall bearers being Messrs Pat Breen, Maurice Lynch, Thos. Hanrahan, Geo. Cutler, Joe Morris and Wm. Gallagher.
