Mary Blosser was born in Fairfield county, Ohio on the 16th day of February, 1837. She was converted and joined the M. E. church at the age of 13 years in Bremen, Ohio, and has always remained true to her profession.
She removed with her parents to Madison county, Iowa, in the year 1856, where she remained until her death.
In the year of 1859 she was married to Ephriam J. Potter, who died in 1871, leaving her with four small children. In 1873, she was united in marriage to Samuel A. Lovelace. In the year 1890, the Lord saw fit to remove Mr. Lovelace from his work on earth to his home in heaven.
She was the mother of six children, of whom the following survive, G. A. Potter of Winterset, Mrs. L. T. Fogler of Patterson, Mrs. J. G. Mahan of Winterset, N. U. Potter of Orange, Calif., Mrs. Chas E. Howell of Winterset; her first born having died in infancy; and one brother, Samuel Blosser of Patterson. There are also 24 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren living.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the M. E. church in Patterson, Rev. Goddard officiating. Interment was in the Montpelier cemetery.
