Death of MRS. MARTHA CAMPBELL

Mrs. Martha McCullough Campbell died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Black, on Tuesday morning, Jan. 27, after two years of failing health.

Mrs. Campbell came from her native state, Pennsylvania, to Ohio when only five years of age. In 1870 the family came to Madison county, where Mrs. Campbell's home has since been, a part of the time in the country, the remainder being spent in Winterset.

She was a strong church woman from girlhood, later uniting with the Presbyterian church here.

In 1877 she was married to David M. Campbell, whose death took place 30 years later. One daughter, Mrs. Willanna Black and one brother, Jas. McCullough, both of this city, survive Mrs. Campbell. Two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth McDonald and Mrs. Mary Sinley, died on the same day in April 1906. The older brother, Robert, passed away two years ago.

Mrs. Campbell, although a quiet, unassuming woman, was well known throughout the town and county. Her devoted life was an example to all who knew her, and the memory of her unselfish, loving nature will be long remembered.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. W. J. Stewart.
