Charles Wilson, son of William and Anna Wilson, was born Aug. 27, 1881 in Winterset, Iowa, and died Nov. 24, 1919. He was married to Mabel Watson at Winterset, April 15, 1903. Two children were born to them, Eva, age 15 years, and Rex, age 12.
He was a member of the Hill of Zion church. When but 18, he went to South Dakota, remaining there until 1909, when with his family he moved to British Columbia and then to Alberta, Canada. He remained there until his failing health, following flu, compelled him to come to Iowa in August where he stayed with his sister until October, hoping the change in climate might benefit him. He then went to his mother in Missouri, to take treatments, but to no avail and died in the hospital at Wichita, Kans.
He leaves his two children, Eva and Rex, a father, mother, two sisters: Gladys Wilson of Ada, S. D.; Bertha Volk of Macksburg; one brother, J. E. Wilson of Hebron. Two sisters preceeded him in death, one in infancy; and Mrs. Georgia A. Wilson, in July, 1918, besides numerous relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Hill of Zion church on Dec. 4, and the remains laid to rest in the family lot in the cemetery at that place.
