Roxanna Virginia (Rundall) Bumbarger

Funeral services for Mrs. R. V. Bumbarger, aged resident of the St. Charles vicinity, were held Saturday at 2:30 in the St. Charles Christian church, with burial in the cemetery there.

Roxanna Virginia Rundall, youngest and last of a family of ten children, was born to Shaddrack and Rhonda Rundall, March 25, 1856 near Wheatland, Iowa and died Sept. 3 at the home of her youngest daughter, Emma Haworth at the age of 86 years, 5 months and 8 days.

She was united in marriage to George Everett Bumbarger on Dec. 29, 1873. To this union eight children were born, four sons and four daughters.

After their marriage at Wheatland, they came to Warren county and located on a farm near South River, living there a few years with her brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Rundall. Later they moved to a farm of their own, always living in Warren county, except a few years in St. Charles, Ia.

Her husband passed away in 1892. The children preceding her in death were, Elsie Georgiania in 1891, age 17 months; George Albakirk in 1892, age 8 months; and Nellie (Mrs. J. M. Strawn), June 10, 1941. The remaining children are Walter Bumbarger and Lucy Souders of Osceola; Harry, of New Virginia; Wesley, of St. Charles, and Emma Haworth of Indianola; also 25 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.

She and her young husband made the good confession and were buried with their Lord in baptism (were baptized in South River) joining the Christian church. In later years she transferred her membership to St. Charles. She always was true to her Master.
