Week’s Letter from Earlham

HELD FUNERAL SERVICES FOR GUY SLAVENS HERE LAST WEDNESDAY

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church for Guy W. Slavens. Mr. Slavens passed away Monday, March 30th at his home in Earlham after a lingering illness. He was 53 years old at the time of his death.

Mr. Slavens is survived by his wife, three sons, John, Robert and Phillip and one daughter Doris Jean, five brothers, Oder of Plainfield, Ind., Jesse of Crawfordsville, Ind., Earnest and Nitus of Stuart, and Tide of Earlham.

Rev. Cecile Latta preached the funeral sermon and two musical selections were sung by a mixed quartette. Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.
