MRS. DAVISSON BERTHOLF

Stella Maud Pratt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Pratt, was born in Madison county, Iowa, Oct. 20,1890. After a brief Illness of only a few days she departed this life on November 10, 1919, at the age of 29 years and 21 days.

She was reared and grew to young womanhood in this county and on Dec. 31, 1907 was united in marriage to Davisson D. Bertholf. To this union were born two daughters, Lucille and Aileen, who at the ages of 11 and 9, are deprived of a mother's love and guiding hand. She leaves to mourn her death the husband, two daughters, a mother, Mrs. Cora Pratt, a brother, Orville and a sister, Helen, all of Winterset. Her father and two sisters, Edna and May, preceded her in death.

Her home has always been in Madison county, except about three spent at Muncie, Ind. Here she was favorably known and numbered her friends by her acquaintances. She possessed a spirit of gentleness and sympathy, with which she comforted many in their afflictions. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and a friend to all.

The funeral services were conducted from the U.P. Church on Wednesday by the Rev. Jackson Giddens, pastor of the Methodist church, after which the remains were laid to rest in Winterset cemetery.
