Carl Wesley Jones, eldest son of Albert Vincent and Grace Bradshaw Jones, was born in Truro, Iowa, Sept. 16, 1908. He died in Osceola, Nov. 6, 1919 at the age of 11 years, 1 month and 20 days. Carl spent his short life in Truro, except the year 1918, when he, with his parents, lived in Ottumwa, Iowa.
His father was killed in the railroad yards in Ottumwa on Oct. 6, 1918 and following his death the family moved back to Truro, Carl was such a bright, lovable boy and his life, though short, was full of cheer and gladness for all those around him. His passing leaves a vacant place in the Sunday school as well as in the home.
There are left to mourn, his mother, one brother, Claude; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Jones, five aunts and two uncles, besides a large number of other relatives and friends. Our hearts go out in sympathy to the bereaved ones.
