Death of GEO. BERRY

Geo. Berry died at his home in Monroe township on last Tuesday after an illness of about six months which baffled the best medical skill and attention. Funeral services were held Thursday and burial made at the Hamblin cemetery near the old Berry homestead.

The deceased was about 65 years old and had been a resident of Monroe township for more than sixty years. The elder Berrys were among Monroe's first citizens locating here in 1853-54.

Geo. B. Berry Passes Away

Geo. B. Berry, a highly respected farmer residing about nine miles north of Lorimor, passed away on Monday, October 20 after a prolonged illness caused by a complication of diseases, the principal one of which was tumor of the stomach. Mr. Berry had been in very poor health for many months and for the past year had been unable to leaves his home and the last months had been bedfast and his relatives and many friends knew it was only a matter of time until the end would come.

Mr. Berry was born on the old home farm in Madison county, on March 11, 1858, and passed away there on October 20, 1919, aged 61 years, 7 months and 9 days. He had lived his entire life in the community and was a highly respected citizen.

The deceased was united in marriage October 21, 1858, (sic) to Miss Martha Kingery, who survives him. To this union were born two sons and one daughter, Everett Berry of Taululu, Illinois, Mrs. Alta Miles and Lyle Berry both of this community. The deceased also leaves to mourn his demise two sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Chas. Kingery of Kimball, South Dakota; Mrs. Mack Harden, of Des Moines; Asa Berry of Des Moines; and Charles and Frank Berry of Lorimor.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, October 22, from the home and interment made at the Hamblin cemetery near the Fellowship church.
