Services were held for Marvin D. Busch, age 67, of Okoboji on October 11, 1995 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Officiating the service was Rev. Phill E. Andreasen and Vicar Mark Haller. Music was provided by Mary Lou Ayres, organist. Pallbearers were Russell Coates, Bill Eichorn, Mervin Gustfson, Dale Kimball, Percy Spurlock, Kenneth Stoeling.
Martin Duane Busch was born on August 2, 1928 to William and Margaret (Clausen) Busch in Lakeview. He received his education in the Lakeview Community.
He was united in marriage to Ruth McLennan on May 29, 1955, in Earlham. Marvin was an insurance agent in Sac City, Rock Rapids, Storm Lake before moving to Okoboji in 1982. Following retirement, he worked with the Missouri Lutheran Synod has a laborer for Christ, building mission churches throughout the United States until health forced him to stop.
Mr. Busch was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and the American Legion. He was a do it yourself carpenter and very interested in his church.
Marvin passed away October 7, 1995 at the McKennen Hospital in Sioux Falls South Dakota.
Survivors are his wife Ruth, of Okoboji; son David Busch and his wife, Julie, Des Moines; daughter Gail Anderson and her husband Don, of Kissimmee, Fla.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Johnson, of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Francis (Velma) Berry, of Aurilia; brother Donald and his wife Charlotte Busch of Lakeview.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Irene Crippen.
Interment was in Lakeview Gardens Cemetery in Spirit Lake with Turner Funeral Home in Spirit Lake in charge of arrangements.
