Stuart, IA.—Kenneth L. Harris, 54, of Stuart died of cancer Monday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Stuart-Mount Vernon United Methodist Church. The body has been cremated and burial will be at a later date.

Mr. Harris was born in Earlham and lived in Stuart all of his life. He was the owner and operator of Harris House Restaurant in Stuart, and he had been a member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Stuart Service Club. He was a 13 year member of the City Council and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Survivors include his wife, Cozette; a son, Brian of Stuart; four daughters, Deborah Miller of Perry, Theresa Kunkle of Stuart, Kendra Wahlert of Dexter and Andrea Carey of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Bonnie Leeper of San Bernardino, Calif.; and Marjorie Benson of Schleswig; his mother, Nina Harris of Earlham; and eight grandchildren.

Friends may call until service time at the family’s home at 412 S. Division St. in Stuart.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
