Ella Small, Former School Teacher and Business Woman Passes
St. Charles—(Special)—Ella Small, one of the most widely-known residents of this community, died at the hospital in Clarinda last Thursday after several months of failing health. She was 75 years of age.
Miss Small had lived all her life in and near St. Charles. For many years she was a school teacher in Madison and Warren counties, and later she operated a general store here in partnership with her nephew, Bid Snider.
Miss Small was born near St. Charles on March 2, 1866, the daughter of William and Martha Small.
She is survived by nine nieces and nephews, Fred Snider of Leon, Bid Snider of Des Moines, Mrs. Ola Stiles of Winterset, Ton Snider, Mrs. Valda Farver, Mrs. Dell Pahre, Yvetta Black and George Black of St. Charles.
