Funeral Rites Held Friday With Burial in Hartman Cemetery
Carrie M. King, long-time resident of Truro and Madison county, died at her home in Truro last Wednesday, October 29th, at the age of 77 years. Mrs. King was the former Carrie Monroe, and was born in New York state, Feb. 23, 1864.
She came to Iowa and was married to T. E. King, Nov. 13, 1881. They were the parents of eleven children. Mr. King and three of the children have preceded her in death. Mrs. King has lived in Madison county for over fifty years. She joined the Methodist church in her youth and was a member of the Truro Methodist church at the time of her death.
The Rev. W. W. Watson conducted her funeral services Friday, Oct. 31st at her home in Truro and burial was made in the Hartman cemetery.
Mrs. King is survived by her four daughters and four sons: Mrs. Jennie Holmes of Truro, Mrs. Irene Leslie of Lakota, Mrs. Viola Christophal of Alpha, Minn., Mrs. Erma McNeley of Omaha, Neb, William of Norwalk, Edward, Leonard and Forrest King of Truro. She also leaves a sister, twenty-four grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
