Page 2Eva May Towns, 79, rural Creston, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 1988, at Greater Community Hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Jerusalem Methodist Church. The Coen-Beaty Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. The Rev. John Tunnicliff will officiate with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery. There will be open visitation at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established to the Jerusalem Methodist Church.
Mrs. Towns was born Nov. 15, 1908, in Winterset to Charles and Lillian (May) Hochstetler. On March 6, 1930 she married Robert L. Towns in Dexter. She lived in Stuart, Dexter and Orient before moving to rural Creston in 1950. She was a homemaker and a member of the Jerusalem Methodist Church, WSCS, and the Lincoln Neighbors Club.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; five daughters, Thelma (Mrs. Marvin) Clark and Bonnie (Mrs. Leo) Powell, of Creston; Virginia (Mrs. Don) Cash of Monroe, Alberta (Mrs. Eddie) Ehm, Afton, and Karen (Mrs. Jack) Schaff of Murray; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Brown of Earlham; and a brother, Francis Hochstetler of Dexter.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
