Rolan Deeter died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines Saturday, July 19th, after a long siege of sickness. Mr. Deeter was one of the earlier residents of Winterset and he was a quiet industrious man, respected by everybody. He has had poor health the last several years because of diabetes. His body was brought here Monday morning and funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mann at the Christian church Monday afternoon at two o'clock. He leaves one son, Ray H. of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, who was with him at his time of death. He also leaves three brothers living in Colorado and one who lives in Marshalltown. Mr. Deeter was seventy-four years old.
