Death of Conard Wolfe

Conard Wolfe, living near Blair Chapel, was found dead Sunday afternoon in the barn. After dinner he went out on the porch and fell down. His brother Chris and sister, Miss Emma Strable feared he was ill and wanted him to come into the house and have a doctor come to see him. He refused, saying he was alright and said that he would feed the team and drive to town, asking if they wished to bring anything home.

Mr. Wolfe went out, they supposed, to feed the horses and make the proposed drive. Late in the afternoon the brother and sister went out to look after the stock and found him dead. He had hung himself probably soon after leaving them.

He had seemed worried for the past few days, so friends say who had talked to him, but no motive can be found for the tragedy.
