MRS. J. F. VEVERKA DIES

Earlham Special: May 29th:

Funeral services for Mrs. J. F. Veverka were held Monday afternoon at the Friends church with Rev. Reece in charge. Mrs. Veverka passed away Saturday afternoon at her home east of Earlham. She was 72 years old. Mrs. Veverka was born in Bohemia on Jan. 11, 1866. She came to America in 1888 and was married to Josef Frank Veverka, December 24, 1888. She leaves six children, Tena, Anna Wilkie, Bessie Mapes, and Frank of Earlham, Emma Devore of Princeton, Ill., and Lucile Bosley of Des Moines and her husband, J. F. Veverka. Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.

Services for Mrs. J. F. Veverka were held Monday afternoon at the Friends church at two o’clock Reverend W. H. Reece, pastor of the church was in charge. Interment was in the Earlham cemetery. Mrs. Veverka passed away at her home east of Earlham Saturday afternoon, May 21, at about 1:30. A heart ailment was the cause of her death. She was 72 years of age.

Marie Anna Bejcek was born in Bohemia on January 11, 1866. She came to America in 1888 and was united in marriage on December 24th of that year to Josef Frank Veverka at Kalona, Iowa. They made their home in What Cheer, Iowa, until 1891, when they moved to Earlham.

Six children came to bless this couple: Tena, Anna Wilkie, Bessie Mapes, and Frank, all of Earlham; Emma Devore of Princeton, Illinois, and Lucille Bosley of Des Moines.

For these children and her husband she lived a devoted life, and her greatest joy in caring for them and her home.
