Kathy Ann (Thornburg) Faux, 71, of St. Charles died Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. A visitation will be held 1 to 8 p.m., today (Wednesday, Jan. 11) at the funeral home, with family present to receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the McGinnis Cemetery, rural Madison County. Memorials to the family will be appreciated.
Kathy Ann Thornburg was born January 27, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Betty (Schirner) Thornburg. Her marriage to Donald L. Faux, Sr. took place on Feb. 14, 1958, in St. Charles, Iowa. Kathy was a homemaker. She liked to help others. She cut wood and would mow lawns for people, including mowing the Methodist Church lawn for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandchild, Amber Grogan.
Kathy is survived by her husband Donald of St. Charles; her three children, Donald Faux, Jr. of St. Charles, Donna Faux Grogan of West Des Moines, and Douglas Faux of Des Moines; siblings, Norma Cooper, Judy Groetken, David Thornburg, Ruth Tyer, and Jennie Wilson; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
