DELIA ANN HUSTON

Delia Annis Spencer was born in Indiana county, Pa., May 17, 1853, and died at her home north of Macksburg, July 15, 1918, aged 65 years, 1 month and 28 days. Her parents removed when she was quite young to Henry county, Illinois, where she lived until 1881, when she came to Iowa.

She was married to Sherbern Huston, Sept. 1, 1871. To this union were born eight children, four boys and four girls, three girls having died early in life. She is survived by five children, who are: Albert A. of Madson, Minn; Sherbern Sherwood of Jefferson, Iowa; Roy Ray of Macksburg; Mrs. Dora D. Scarlett, also of Macksburg, and Glen Gail of Chugwater, Wyoming. The husband and father preceded her in death Jan. 26, 1895.

She was converted and united with the Methodist church very early in life and has been a very true and constant member. It was with great Christian patience and forfeiture that she bore the afflictions which were her lot to endure during the closing years of her life. All efforts of medical skill with the assistance of loving hearts and willing hands, could not keep her.

The funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at the home by Rev. B. D. Sutton of Beaconsfield, assisted by the pastor, Rev. G. T. Andrews. A large concourse followed the remains to their last resting place. Interment was made in Moon cemetery beside the grave of her husband.
