Peru

Mrs. WILLIAM T. JESSE

The death of Mrs. T. Jesse occurred on Monday, April 22nd, at her home, southwest of town, after an illness of several weeks' duration in which she was afflicted with cancer of the face.

Burial services were held from the M. E. church by Rev. Wood Wednesday morning. Interment at the Peru cemetery.

DEATH OF MRS. JESSIE

Mrs. Jessee, who died at her home west of East Peru, on the 22 was an old time resident of Madison county, and brought up a family here. Her funeral occurred Tuesday from the Methodist church conducted by Rev. Wood. The funeral was well attended by old friends and neighbors and the body was laid to rest at Union chapel by the side of her husband and children buried there. The following obituary was read at the funeral:

Marthy Emoline Jessee born Oct. 24th 1839, died April 22, 1918, was married to William T. Jessie Dec. 17th, 1866. To this union was born six children—Edgar M., Martha Ellen and Charley A., and John L. These four survive her. She was a member of the United Brethren Church, was faithful until death. The father departed this life May 27th, 1917, and two babes in infancy.
