HELD FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. F. P. SCHOEN AT U.B. CHURCH JULY 14th

The funeral services for Mrs. Ferdinand P. Schoen were held on Tuesday afternoon, July 14th at the Jefferson United Brethren church, conducted by the Rev. E. A. Elliott of Des Moines, who was a former pastor of Mrs. Schoen. Burial was in the Jefferson cemetery.

Emma Rebecca, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Ballentine was born October 23, 1858 in Madison county, and passed away in Miami, Florida, on July 11, 1936, at the age of 77 years. On April 11, 1876 she was united in marriage to Ferdinand Paul Schoen and spent most of her life in Madison county. Mr. Schoen passed away several years ago. Since 1925 she has made her home with her son Paul in Miami, Florida.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A. O. Harpel of Des Moines and Mrs. E. J. Alexander of Winterset, three sons, Paul of Miami, Florida, Hugh of Newberg, Oregon, and Jesse of Des Moines, one sister, Mrs. Minnie Dawe of Wamego, Kansas, four brothers, Alex, Hugh and Olin Ballentine of Omega, Kansas, and Charlie of Van Meter, nineteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
