Ray Addy died at his home north of Patterson on Saturday, October 27th, after a two weeks illness with influenza and pneumonia. He was the son of the late Alex Addy of Lee township and was twenty seven years of age. He was born and reared in Madison county and in 1911 was married to Miss Lena Bernau of Jefferson township. His wife and five children, the oldest being seven years of age, survive him. Of his parental family he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Addy, six brothers and five sisters, one brother being in France.
Burial services were held at the G. B. cemetery on Tuesday, Rev. Jackson Giddens of the Winterset M. E. church conducting the brief funeral service at the home, which owing to the quarantine, could not be attended by the public.

Ray F. Addy
Ray Franklin Addy was born in Lee township, Madison county April 10, 1891 and passed away at his home in Crawford township. His untimely death was caused by pneumonia, following an attack of influenza. He was taken sick Oct. 16th and passed from this life on Saturday, Oct 26th, at the age of 27 years, 6 months and 10 days.
He was married to Lena C. Bernau, May 25, 1911. Five children were born to this union: Laura Wilhelmina, age 7; Pauline Rose, age 5, Robert Thomas, age 4; Floyd Ray, age 2; and Leroy Alexander, age 14 months. He leaves to mourn his death, a loving wife, five children, a mother, five sisters, six brothers, the youngest brother, Orvie, being in France; a host of other relatives and friends.
