Personal Items from Van Meter

The funeral service for Sanford E. Trindle was held at two o’clock Thursday afternoon at the Union Chapel United Brethren church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. L. B. Foster. Burial was in the Union Chapel cemetery.

Mr. Trindle was born in Madison county on August 22nd, 1869 and resided in this county all his life. On May 23, 1892 he was united in marriage to Etta Schultz. To this union five sons were born, Eldon A. Trindle of Des Moines, E. H. Trindle of Van Meter, A. D. Trindle of Correctionville, Fred R. Trindle of Van Meter and Clyde who died in infancy. Mr. Trindle had been in ill health the past year but was able to be around at the time of his death and fell over dead while assisting with the morning chores on Tuesday, May 26th. He is survived by his wife, four sons, four grandchildren, and a brother, Robert, of Kuling, China.

Among those here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Norman, Mrs. Don Hemphill, Mrs. Frank Willis and daughter, Lucille, and Artie Schultz all of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Fay Laverty of Indianola, Mr. and Mrs. Verne Addy of St. Charles, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Duncan, Mr. and Mrs. Halden Storrs, Mrs. Mary Trindle and Wes Ladd all of Winterset.
