Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Sheets went to Van Meter, Thursday to attend the funeral of his brother, Jesse Sheets. Others going from here were Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Reed, F. W. Bradshaw and Earl Smith.

Funeral services for Jessie Sheets were held at the United Brethren church Wednesday afternoon. He had spent most of his life in this community. For years with his wife and daughters he had lived on a farm southeast of Van Meter.
Besides his wife and daughters he leaves a brother, Chester Sheets of St. Charles; a sister, Clara Pritchard of Winterset.
Burial was in Chapel cemetery.

Page 1, Column 5MISSING FARMER IS FOUND MONDAY
The body of Jesse M. Sheets, 52, farmer southeast of Van Meter, was found hanging from a tree on a neighbor's farm Monday. He had been missing since last Wednesday night, October 16.
No inquest will be held. The coroner pronounced it a case of suicide. Sheets, who had been despondent, is survived by his wife and twin daughters, 13.
