Week’s Letter from Earlham

Word was received here Wednesday afternoon of the death of Mrs. Clyde Duff of the Worthington neighborhood. Mrs. Duff had been ill for the past year with an incurable disease. She was a member of the Earlham Eastern Star chapter and a member of the Past Matron’s club. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Worthington church.

A large number from Earlham attended the funeral services of Mrs. Cora Duff which were held at the Worthington church Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock with the Rev. A. P. Keast of Ottumwa, preaching the services, Rev. A. R. Weed, pastor of the West Star church assisted. Mrs. Earl Schalkle and Mrs. Arthur Marks sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Asleep in Jesus.” Besides her husband, Mrs. Duff leaves one son Phillip, two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Henkle and Mrs. Josephine Stanley and one brother, Lester Oldham and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn her going. Burial was in the Worthington cemetery.

MRS. CLYDE DUFF DIED WEDNESDAY, MAY 29

Mrs. Cora Oldham Duff passed away at her home in the Worthington neighborhood Wednesday, May 29. She had been ill for some time. Funeral services in charge of Rev. A. P. Keast were held Thursday, May 30. Rev. A. R. Weed assisted. Interment was made in the Worthington cemetery.
