The death of Mrs. T. J. Hogg, which occurred at the home of her sister in Osceola on Thursday of last week, came as a severe shock to the people of this community. She had ailed for several months, but her condition was not thought to be serious until a short time ago, when she was stricken with Bright's disease in its worst form.
The past year and a half the family spent in a farm in Minnesota but owning to her failing health they decided to move to a warmer climate, when two weeks ago, they shipped their household goods to Peru, hoping to occupy their property in the north part of town; it being her desire to spend her last days among her friends here, but death claimed her shortly after her return to this state, and before the home was ready for occupancy.
The bereaved husband and son have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in this, their time of sorrow.
The funeral occurred from the M. E. church Saturday afternoon after which the remains were laid to rest in the family lot in the Peru cemetery.
