Services Held for L. D. Anthony

Funeral services for Loren (Laney) D. Anthony, 81, were held Saturday, February 11, at the Fisher Funeral Home in Adel at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Anthony, a retired brick mason, passed away Thursday, February 9, following surgery to relieve a circulatory ailment caused by arterial sclerosis. He had undergone amputation of a leg prior to this time and was thought to be progressing satisfactorily.

Mr. Anthony had been an Adel resident for 10 years, moving there from Earlham. Prior to his hospitalization, he resided at the Maple Lin Manor in Earlham.

Rev. Claude Wood officiated at the service, Robert G. Fisher was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Neale Caudron. Casket bearers were Dale Merical, Floyd Merical, John H. Johnson, Perry Baker, E. O. Enos and Norman Roberts. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.

Mr. Anthony is survived by two sons: Ted of DeSoto and Wm. Of Hoquiam, Washington, and five grandchildren.
