Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 17, 1975, for Joseph Boos, born May 2, 1891 to Nicholas and Anna Fritch Boos. He died December 14, 1975, at Madison Manor North Nursing Home in Winterset. Mr. Boos was 84 years old.
A confirmed member of the Lutheran Church, Mr. Boos was active in the congregation of Trinity Lutheran as a member of the voters’ assembly, the Men’s Club and the Fellowship Club, until poor health diminished his participation.
The marriage of Joseph Boos and Mary Catherine Janda took place in Des Moines on September 12, 1912. She preceded him in death in 1971.
Mr. Boos was occupied as a farmer in Jefferson Township most of his life. He also resided in Dallas County and in Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother, as well as his wife, Mary.
Surviving Joseph Boos are four children, Mrs. Esther Radke of Van Meter, Mrs. Irene Brittain of Kamrar, Iowa, Mrs. Lucille Fisher of Adel and Robert Boos of Indianola.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Ziemann of Indianola, Mrs. Anna Martens of Van Meter and Mrs. Clara Martens of Winterset; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Officiating at the funeral services was the Rev. E. A. Breiholz of Trinity Lutheran. Burial was made at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
