Services for Robert "Pete" Lull, Jr., 83, who died Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Regency Care Center in Norwalk, IA, will be held 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 21 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial, with military rites, will be held in the Montpelier Cemetery, Patterson, IA.
Pete was born in Patterson and graduated from Patterson High School. He was a salesman for Iowa Paint for 34 years and served as Martensdale Fire Chief for 20 years.
Survivors include his children, Debra (Dave) Thomsen of Norwalk and Doug Lull of West Des Moines; grandchildren, Ben "B.J." Wiedmann of Martensdale and Matt Wiedmann of West Des Moines; sister, Mary Jo (Max) Tucker of Macksburg, IA; brother-in-law, John (Marge) Singer of Wilson, NC; and sister-in-law, Kathryn Williams of Crescent City, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay; parents, Robert and Blanche (Hyser) Lull; siblings, Rex, Clyde, Loyde, Roy and Anna Lull; and brother-in-law, Bud Williams.
Visitation will be held 3 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 20 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Martensdale Fire and Rescue, Martensdale-St. Marys Athletics, or Patterson United Methodist Church.
