Rites Held for Florence M. Anderson, 60

Florence M. Anderson of St. Charles, a longtime resident of that area, died at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines last Saturday, April 26. She was 60 years of age.

Florence Marie Anderson was born at St. Charles on April 14, 1915, the daughter of Lloyd and Gladys Neal Black. She was educated in Madison County schools, and graduated from Truro High School. She married Charles Anderson at Truro on August 26, 1939.

Mrs. Anderson taught school for two years in Walnut Township, and was an Avon representative. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, as well as the Order of the Eastern Star Model Chapter of St. Charles.

Survivors include her husband, Charles, of St. Charles; two daughters, Karen Anderson of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Mrs. Sheryl North of Centerville; and one son, Richard Anderson of St. Charles. Also surviving are her mother, Gladys Black of Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Jack (Virginia) Reed of Tampa, Florida, and Margery Lowry of Des Moines; and a brother, Victor Black of Tampa, Florida; and four grandchildren. Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at the United Methodist Church at St. Charles, with the Rev. Eldon Ringle presiding. Burial was in the St. Charles Cemetery.

Hold Rites for Mrs. Anderson

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 29, for Florence Marie Anderson, 60, who died at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines on Saturday, April 26, 1975. The Rev. Eldon Ringle will officiate at the 1:30 p.m. funeral which will be held at the United Methodist Church in St. Charles.

Florence Marie Anderson was born April 14, 1915, in St. Charles, Iowa, daughter of Lloyd Black and Gladys Neal Black. She attended schools in Madison County and graduated from Truro High School. She was married to Charles Anderson on August 26, 1939, in Truro. Three children were born to this union. She taught school for two years in Walnut Township and was an Avon representative later. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Model Chapter in St. Charles and was affiliated with the Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Charles of St. Charles; daughter, Karen Anderson of St. Paul, Minnesota; daughter, Sheryl North and husband, Dr. Dave North of Centerville, Iowa; son, Richard Anderson of St. Charles; four grandchildren, mother, Gladys Black of Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Jack (Virginia) Reed of Tampa, Florida and Margery Lowry of Des Moines; and one brother, Victor black of Tampa, Florida.

Interment will be in St. Charles Cemetery.
