Betty Thompson Services Held

Funeral services were held here this Wednesday morning (today) for Mrs. Betty L. Thompson of Perry, a former Winterset resident. Mrs. Thompson died at her home in Perry on Saturday, April 19, at the age of 36.

Betty L. Thompson was born in Wilken County, Minnesota on December 31, 1938, the daughter of Gordon and Alta Burhans Conrad. She was married to Nicky Thompson at Adel on February 20, 1957.

Mrs. Thompson had been a resident of Madison County for 20 years, until moving to Perry about two months ago. An employee of Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Des Moines she was affiliated with the Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Nicky, and two children, Steven of Winterset and Paula of Perry. Also surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Conrad of Winterset; a grandmother, Mrs. Edith Burhans of Breckenridge, Minnesota; two brothers, Jerry and Dennis Conrad of Breckenridge, Minnesota; and a sister, Carol Funke of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, April 23, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset, with the Rev. Paul Bousfield and Dr. Walter Samp officiating. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.
