Adel, IA.---Russell G. Kroeger, 69, of Adel died of cancer Monday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church. Cremation will follow, with burial of the cremains in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Van Meter at a later date.

Mr. Kroeger was born in Carroll and lived in Adel 25 years, retiring in 1988 as a bookkeeper for Central Iowa Farm Service. He was a veteran of World War II and a charter member of the Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; a son, Scott of Des Moines; two daughters, Susan Kroeger of Adel and Allison Kroeger of Boston; five sisters, Lois Krogh of Lake View, Harriett Dinda of Kalamazoo, Mich., Helen Johns of Lake Tahoe, Calif., Violet Read of Portland, Texas, and Phyllis Rembach of Vancouver, Wash.; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call after noon today at Fisher Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 7 to 9 p.m. and a prayer service will be at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
