October 15, 1969FRANK CAUDILL Dies at 82 Years
Frank Caudill of Winterset, a resident of Madison county since 1930, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1969, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. He was 82 years of age.
Mr. Caudill was a native of Rowan county, Kentucky, where he was born March 6, 1887,a son of Greenburg and Emma Jane Tolson Caudle. He was married at Moorehead, Ky., on Aug. 1, 1906, to Fannie Eldridge, who preceded him in death August 29th.
Mr. Caudill's active life was spent in farming. He was a member of the First Baptist church at Winterset, in which he taught Sunday school for several years.
He is survived by six children, Mrs. Gertrude Sorlein of Joseph, Ore., Mrs. Jewel Utterson of Council Bluffs, Walter F. Caudill of St. Charles, Mrs. Dessie Kennington of Houston, Tex., J. D. Caudill of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Esther Smith of Peru, in addition to 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He also leaves a brother, Henry W. Caudill of Lexington, Ky.; and a sister, Mrs. Mintie Geter also of Lexington.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the First Baptist church of Winterset, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. H. E. Borum, and the Rev. Charles Updike, pastor of the Winterset Foursquare church.
Burial was made in the Ebenezer cemetery.
